Facilitator Training Program

The PJI Facilitator Training Program is a cohort-based experience designed to support potential facilitators on the path to becoming a certified PJI Facilitator. Along the way, participants are immersed in the philosophy and methods foundational to creating inclusive and engaging PJI workshops.  PJI believes powerful facilitation involves cultivating authenticity of the heart and mind as well as a deep commitment to building community, interdependence, and a culture of self-reflection.

Each level of training (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) is a cohort experience and includes theoretical,  practical, and historical readings; teaching demonstrations; reflective practices; and curriculum analysis.  Each level has co-requisites that can be completed prior to, during, or after each level.

This hybrid program (virtual and in-person) is a four-session cohort experience over seven weeks. Over this time, you will be immersed in PJI philosophy and methodology, learning the basic principles and practices that make PJI workshops inclusive and engaging. You will also be supported in learning to bring your authentic self to the work of community building.

Participants in the PJI Summer Academy will:

  • Employ pedagogical tools and theoretical frameworks to create peaceful, safe, trauma-sensitive and inclusive spaces.
  • Support authentic dialogue, transform conflict and develop positive interdependence through the use of PJI’s Principles for How We Treat Each Other: Our Practice of Respect and Community Building.
