Facilitator Training Program

Join a cohort grounded in connection and growth.

The Peace and Justice Institute’s Facilitator Training Program is a cohort-based learning experience that blends in-person and virtual sessions. Over four sessions in seven weeks, you’ll explore PJI’s core principles and methods, engage in reflective practice, and develop the skills to lead inclusive, authentic, and community-centered learning spaces.

The Peace and Justice Institute’s Facilitator Training Program offers more than certification. It’s an invitation to reshape how we lead, teach, and build community.

Rooted in resilience and reflective practice, this program is designed for educators, leaders, and others who want to create inclusive spaces, navigate complexity with compassion, and deepen their impact.

What You’ll Explore

You will learn from a diverse team of PJI facilitators and educators, gain access to PJI-created activities and curriculum, and engage in active, experiential learning, including mindfulness and reflective practice.

Program Structure

The program has three levels. Each offers a supportive, enriching experience to help you grow as a facilitator. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Levels 2 and 3. Attendance at all sessions is required for completion. Here’s what’s included:  

  • Expert Facilitation from a diverse team of PJI facilitators and educators
  • Live Teaching Demonstrations: Learn by observing and engaging in teaching demonstrations to witness best practices in action.
  • PJI Curriculum: Access to PJI’s activities and curriculum 
  • Comprehensive Reading Materials: Access to theoretical, practical, and historical texts
  • Reflective Practices: Guided exercises designed to deepen self-awareness and facilitate personal growth as as a facilitator
  • Immersive Learning Experience: Engage in a hybrid learning format with both virtual and in-person sessions, ensuring flexibility while maintaining a sense of community
  • Personalized Support: Mentorship and feedback with a PJI lead facilitator, helping you integrate your authentic self into your facilitation practice.

 

Who Should Attend? 

This program is designed for individuals aiming to lead groups with enhanced skill, compassion, and authenticity. It is ideal for educators, facilitators, nonprofit and social service staff, community leaders, retired professionals, and anyone interested in creating meaningful spaces for others.

Level One Program Format

  • Four sessions over six weeks on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm EST
Session Dates

Session 1: September 26 | In-Person, Orlando, FL

Session 2: October 10 | Online

Session 3: October 24 | Online

Session 4: November 7 | In-Person, Orlando, FL

Level 2 will be offered again soon. 

 

What is the program fee?

The $1,500 program fee covers the full cohort experience, including expert facilitation, interactive sessions, learning materials, and ongoing mentorship. This fee reflects a shared investment in people, purpose, and the practical needs of running the program. Payment plans are available. A limited number of need-based scholarships are offered to participants experiencing financial hardship.

Further Learning

Once participants have completed the PJI Summer Academy, participants will be provided with: PJI Academy Alumni support and mentorship PJI practices and tools to use in your classroom Further offerings of Development Days and retreats after the summer experience to dive deeper into resilience, self-care, and equity topics.
