Nine Years After Trayvon Martin Shooting, Sanford Forms Committee to Study Race, Inequality

The Orlando Sentinel wrote an article about Sanford commissioners agreeing to form an advisory committee “charged with taking a look at racial tension within the city and how the disparities in services, public and private, impact people of color more than they do their white counterparts,” stated Andrew Thomas. The Peace and Justice Institute served as a facilitator in the process, supporting the delivery of a final report to the city commission detailing recommendations and findings.
